Avalon account
Privacy notice
Beta notice · July 21, 2026
What we keep
Avalon stores the account details you provide, event RSVPs and answers, communication choices, and security records needed to run the service. The mobile app also stores a push delivery token when you explicitly enable notifications. If you add a mobile number, we store it separately from your choices about receiving text messages.
How we use it
We use this data to operate Avalon events, the member directory, account security, and the updates you choose to receive. We do not sell account data, mobile numbers, or text-message consent, and we do not share them with third parties for their own marketing.
Who can see it
Profile visibility follows your settings. Authorized Avalon staff can access operational account and event records; assigned event hosts receive guest-list details but not global contact information. Email, push, and—when text delivery is enabled—Twilio receive only the destination and message data needed to verify a phone or deliver a selected message. Those providers process delivery metadata under their own service and privacy terms.
Your controls
You can edit profile visibility, change topic and channel preferences, unsubscribe, revoke app notifications, reply STOP to a text, remove your phone, or delete your account from Profile. Replying STOP globally pauses Avalon text messages; replying START at the carrier does not silently restore an Avalon topic or event choice. Deletion removes personal account data and de-identifies shared institutional records; limited operational audit history may be retained without profile details.
Deletion and backups
Account deletion removes live personal data immediately. Recovery copies may temporarily retain deleted data and are used only to recover from a service failure. If a recovery restores deleted data, Avalon re-applies the deletion before returning the service to normal use. Backup encryption and bounded retention are required before this beta expands.
